An introduction to the anemias

Anemia results from a decreased number of red blood cells (RBCs) or a decreased quantity of hemoglobin within those cells.

Anemia can be classified by a range of the red blood cells’ characteristics including their morphology and underlying etiology. Anemias can be characterized by those anemias brought about by inadequate erythropoiesis, and those brought about by excessive loss.
